Troop Organization
Troop 848 is a Boy led troop that is supported by the adult organization of adult leaders and parents. The scouts are grouped into patrols made up of 8-12 boys. Each patrol is led by a Patrol Leader, who is assisted by an Assistant Patrol Leader. Green Scouts (first year scouts) also have a Troop Guide assigned to each Green patrol. This is an older scout who helps to guide and mentor the new scouts. The entire troop is led by the Senior Patrol Leader and his staff of Assistant Senior Patrol Leaders. A Leadership Corps of older scouts assists the Staff with implementing programs.
The scouts are supported by many adult volunteers. The Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters interact with the scouts and provide guidance and support to help the scouts with their programs and advancement. The Troop Committee provides the background logistical support - finances, paperwork, reservations, etc.
